Government Surveillance Threat

The U.S. Defense Department is developing a computer system which will treat all Americans as if we were suspects in a crime: all communications -- including email, phone calls and web searches -- as well as records of purchases, school records, etc. -- would be entered into a massive database. There is a bill in the Senate which would put a moratorium on such "data-mining" by the Defense Department and would require that the Congress be notified of such programs under development. Here's how to urge your Senators to support this initiative to protect Americans against this invasion of privacy and government spying: American Civil Liberties Union : Stop the Government Plan to Mine our Privacy
